George Zimmerman is in trouble again. The man who got away with murder for killing Trayvon Martin has been charged with assault and battery for allegedly attacking his new girlfriend Monday. He allegedly pointed a shotgun at her.
Zimmerman, 30, was arrested outside the home he shared with 27-year-old Samantha Scheibe, in Apopka, Florida, about 15 miles north of Orlando. Law enforcement reportedly told TMZ that Zimmerman’s new girlfriend is currently pregnant.
Zimmerman was booked into the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in the city of Sanford and is expected to remain in jail overnight. The wannabe cop shot and killed unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin in February 2012. He was eventually acquitted in the teen’s murder.
His wife, Shellie Zimmerman, filed for divorce in August. The next month she accused him of threatening her with a firearm, and in October she claims that Zimmerman nailed a marksman target with 17 bullet holes to a wall in her parent’s house. Shellie Zimmerman has also said that she doubts her husband’s innocence in Martin’s murder.
